Fischermanns Orchestra
World Music / Jazz / Experimental
An archaic, rumbling orchestra with blaring brass fanfares of fire, punk smoke vocal cat-tones, electronic tonal architectural tapestries, and rousing-ass-moving-limb-circular-groovulations.
This adventurous troupe has been on the road delivering its musical message to the people for fifteen years, constantly on the move. Having played more than 300 concerts on four continents: international jazz festivals to backyard clubs - back to the roots - on the street, on the stage, for the people.
The freshness enthusiasm and abandon with which the Fischermanns Orchestra appears is seldom found today. It is precisely this joy of playing that is the essence of any music that is able to touch the heart.
- Niklaus (Knox) Troxler, organizer Jazz in Willisau (Switzerland)
The Fischermanns Orchestra manages seemingly effortless to create splendid moments of collective happiness by wildly challenging themselfs and the audience, playing unpredictable performances of fairly complex music.
- Phillippe Bischof, Director Pro Helvetia
It's a special pleasure to see and to hear the Fischermanns Orchestra. A joyful experience to those, who are lucky enough to witness this band's performances.
- Peter Schärli, musician
The Fischermanns Orchestra is one of the most refreshing large formations with an amazing "Spirit" and ravishing joy.
- Roberto Domeniconi, musician
In their showcase at the Jazzahead 2015 in Bremen the Fischermanns Orchestra created immediate and sometime uninhibited fireworks with a mild conduction form allowing spontaneity, surprising turns, and nice skew sounds.
